Monkey Radio with Marc is announcing that it’s first annual “American of the Year” is Angie Kardashian.
Angie is an extraordinary person and American, who exemplifies the spirit of selflessness, patriotism and humanity which inspires others. Already a philanthropic pillar of her California community in 2001, she gave up her time, personal savings and business momentum to spend nearly two years, thousands of miles from her home, cooking and serving meals for more than 100 fire houses in New York City in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks. She has continued her spirit of giving and empathy above the call of duty in her work as a JetBlue Flight Attendant, and addresses whomever will listen around the country about the importance of “paying it forward” and spreading kindness.
Amazingly, even after all she has given, her single primary goal is to be able to tour the country in a motor home, between flight attendant assignments, as a mobile museum of the stories and remembrance of 9/11 firefighters. She is committed to keeping her promise to keep their memories alive, and hopes to do so in a perpetual grass-roots manner, assuming she can find a way to obtain an RV and equip it as a mobile museum.
You can hear Angie’s full story in an inspiring interview in the episode A Kardashian That Matters starting May 28th, 2013.
